House of the Dragon Returns for Season 2

The highly anticipated prequel to HBO's hit series Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, has officially returned for season 2. This season will feature a shorter run, with only eight episodes compared to the first season's 10.

The eight episodes of season 2 will be released weekly, with new installments streaming on HBO Max every Sunday or airing on HBO cable channels. The first episode of the season aired on August 21, 2023.

Season 2 of House of the Dragon will continue to follow the story of the Targaryen family during the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. The first season ended with the death of King Viserys I and a major conflict brewing between his two children, Rhaenyra and Aegon.
